“Of course, but one in every room might be a bit excessive,” she said, eyes still closed. “We are meant to be prepared for anything at all times, but I don’t think that that is what anyone had in mind.”
She could feel his eyes on her, his gaze as warm as the sun that filtered in through the open window. She knew he was studying her, but he made no move to touch her until she found a spot that made him jump slightly and grab her ankle in his hand. Her face lighting up in a bright smile, she slowly opened her eyes to look at him. Most of her ticklish spots had been trained out of her as a child, but there were a few not so obvious ones that still lingered a little. Her foot was not one of them.
“What’s the matter, Barton,” she teased, raising her free leg to place her foot flat right on the middle of his chest.
