It was clear that her joking answer wasn’t just not what he wanted to hear, but completely unwelcomed. For every two steps forward she made she seemed to take another back. They were definitely moving forward, she was getting better at the whole relationship thing, but it certainly wouldn’t be without constant stumbling.

Needless to say, when the power finally cut out Natasha was glad for the distraction it offered.
