When he sat up and she could feel his breath hot against her skin she wrapped her arms lightly around his shoulders, resting her forehead against him. His words eased her worries instantly; he always seemed to know exactly what to say, and she was left feeling slightly foolish for her concerns, though her relief was greater.
They were a team, they were in this together, every step of the way; maybe one day they would both fully accept that and stop worrying. They both spent enough time following orders, and their off time was theirs to do what they wanted. It was still nice to have the confirmation, though.
“I’m becoming quite adept at killing the mood,” Natasha said with a chuckle. Nuzzling against him, she kissed that overly sensitive spot she had created on his neck. If the mood was recoverable his reaction would be a good indication.
