The remainder of the flight passed comfortably, with both of them either enjoying the view or just each other’s presence. They said little, but small talk was unnecessary for them; it was just something they engaged in when they wanted to, not because they were afraid of uncomfortable with silence.

It didn’t take them long to get their bags and exit the airport, and as soon as they stepped out of the air conditioned building the heat hit them like a wave. Good thing she packed light.

Besides, old habits died hard, and getting a cab would leave a sort of record of where they were going, not that they were really hiding, but a spy never truly goes on vacation. The plane tickets were enough; a car that wasn’t a rental was better than a cab any day.
