Natasha had never let herself get this attached before, had never thought there would be someone in the world she couldn’t live without. Not that she wouldn’t if she lost him; of course she would keep going, it was what she was conditioned to do, but it was Clint that truly taught her how to live. He was the most important person in her life, and while she knew she could not build her world around him, could not let every happiness in her life depend upon him, in moments like this he really was all that mattered. S.H.I.E.L.D., New York; at this moment she thought she could give it all up just so long as she had him.
It was not a thought she allowed herself to dwell on.
She missed the sensation immediately when he moved his hand, but it gave her a moment to breathe and push the growing excitement down a little so they could prolong this encounter. The air was heavy between them, but a good heavy as they continue to search each other’s eyes, seeing all they needed to know within their depths.
The tone of Clint’s voice struck right to her heart, and Natasha couldn’t resist leaning in to kiss him, slowly and softly and containing just as much love and emotion as her eyes had held moments ago.
