When their eyes locked Natasha felt a current run through her that was definitely new. She could read it in his eyes that he was unsure of how to handle this, and that what he wanted to do he couldn’t exactly act on right here, and she was a little surprised to note that she felt the same. She was not the most affectionate person by a long shot, but the urge to just wrap her arms around him and hold him close for a moment was almost overwhelming. She had known that he was okay, but had needed to see him with her own eyes, wanted to touch to assure herself he was fine.
“Yes. I came right here after my debriefing,” she admitted, passing by him and through the door. “I had a promise to keep, though I must admit that I am glad you were in the building.”
Would she have tracked him down on assignment had he been out on one? Possibly, if there was no risk of compromising his position. "You look well."
