have been surprised when Clint suggested Fury’s own.
“You’re
just asking for another reprimand, aren’t you?” she replied, though there was a
glimmer in her eyes that matched his own. Fury would not like this one bit, but she had the feeling that whatever
punishment he came up with, this would still be worth it. “You’re lucky I didn’t tell him about your
little visit.”
It
was a joke for sure, but there was also a little more behind it. She was testing the waters to see how he
reacted to the mention of that night so she could better gauge whether to
seriously broach the subject later or not. In all honesty she wasn’t sure that she wanted to
talk about it, but she also wasn’t certain it could be avoided for long.
