He glances over at her, but his eyes don't stay away from h is piloting or long. He takes a deep breath and lets the silence continue for a moment as he gathers up his thoughts.
"If you have to ask, I must not be doing a very good job at showing them," he says after a long moment. He flashes a soft smile to make sure that she knows he's half teasing. Still, it's hard to know if he's doing the right thing. The last thing he wants to do is give Natasha a reason to distance herself.
"I guess it's because that night was about the two of us. For a couple of hours, I actually forgot the rest of the world existed and I was okay with that."
