She knew he would give her space if she wanted it, but she wasn’t sure she did; she wasn’t sure what she wanted at all. Part of her wanted to be alone to wallow for a few minutes before pulling herself together to carry on, while another part wanted to curl up against Clint’s side and stay in bed all day. These two very opposite viewpoints were very clearly at war.
“I don’t know, it’s a little chilly in here,” she said, noting the way Clint covered up a little more despite his comment. “You’re more impressive to watch when it’s not so cold.”
She couldn’t help teasing him despite everything. The warm tea was already helping to revive her, though her empty stomach was still churning away and threatening to revolt again. She felt it might settle without further incident, though.
