Dancing in the Dark (for farmboyhawk)

They didn’t get a lot of time off together, at least not enough to make a trip away worthwhile, so for this one weekend they decided to stay in the city and play tourist for the day.

They had started with a walk through Central Park before grabbing an early lunch at one of the city’s many street vendors and then wandering through the American Museum of Natural history. Natasha found the Hall of Minerals fascinating while Clint had gotten a kick out of all the dinosaur bones. They both enjoyed laying under the big blue whale with all the normal people.

Afterwards they went to a nice restaurant for supper, blending into the crowd of normal couples as best they could and Natasha actually forgot if she was playing a role or being herself as they finished their wine and shared their desserts.

“Thank you,” she said sincerely as they left the restaurant, stepping back into the cool night air. Nearby a busker played guitar and sang with surprising melody and soul, barely seeming to notice as people threw change into his open case, so caught up was he in his music.

Had she been watching him Natasha would have likely noticed the twitch, no matter how small. As it was, though, his ticklish spot remained a secret and her hand moved from his side to his back, fingertips tracing the bumps of his vertebrae.

She smiled at both his words and the sleepy tone of voice, turning her head slightly to place a kiss against his chest through his shirt. A quiet “mmm” was his only answer for now as his roaming fingers dipped lower. Definitely some great memories.

“It’s a good theory,” she said, practically snuggling against him. Yes, apparently, the Black Widow could snuggle, but it was knowledge that could probably get someone killed. “I would definitely be game for trying it out. If nothing else we can overload you with so many good ones that the bad ones are so outnumbered they don’t seem as bad.”

She knew time was the real healer, but being happy in the present definitely helped and made people less likely to dwell in the past. She definitely had experience in that matter, and she had honestly never been happier in her life than she was with Clint.

"Knew I could count on you."

Clint carefully turned to his side, so Natasha came to lie on top of him, all curled up and warm and close, just like he loved it most, and wrapped his arms around her waist again. A quiet grumbling of his stomach made him chuckle, and there was no way she wouldn't have felt it, but he chose to ignore it for now. He'd have to get up sooner or later anyway to throw a few things in a bag, that was early enough for responsibilities.

"Wondering if I should take my bow and a few training arrows", he murmured, out of these thoughts. "You know, if we're talking staying in shape... Could give you a few lessons. Been some years since you last shot it."

“Always,” Natasha replied. If either of them could count on one things in their lives, it was each other.

Letting Clint shift and maneuver her body, she settled down on top of him, his own personal human blanket. The thought made her smile, that a position that should be somewhat uncomfortable for him to just lounge in, with all her weight pressing down on him, was one he seemed to enjoy so much. She got it, though; the weight of another person could be either threatening or comforting depending on the situation and she took it as a compliment that he never seemed to feel trapped by her.

Chuckling when she felt his stomach rumble, Natasha lifted her head to look at him. When he didn’t say anything, just kept talking like nothing had happened, she grinned and folded her hands on his chest, resting her chin on them.

“Would hate for you to fall out of practice,” she said with just a hint of teasing. Clint was the best marksman there was, it would take more than a few weeks to even begin to effect his accuracy, she was sure. “You know I never refuse the opportunity to add to my arsenal of skills.”

"Hm-hm... And just think of all the various form of training we can do when nobody watches..."

His hands dipped a little lower again, between her thighs to slowly rub up and down the insides, with just his thumbs occasionally bumping against the warmth of her center when he came too close.

"You know, one of the most important points in archery is your stance. Not being distracted by anything, always keeping the right angles and tension, no matter what's going on around you..."

“Believe me, I am,” she said, grinning wickedly at him. This time away was certainly going to be a learning experience for both of them, and the more they talked about it the more excited Natasha grew. The last relationship she had been in before Clint had been her marriage, and she had been barely more than a child when that had begun. To go away with someone for the sole purpose of rest and relaxation, no work involved, was entirely new, no matter what they got up to.

Turning her head to rest her cheek against his chest again, she closed her eyes and reveled in the soft motions of his hands, letting out a soft sound of contentment occasionally.

The challenge in his words was unmistakeable and a wide grin spread across her lips. So that was his intention? It would certainly add a new interesting level to the usual weapons training, and two could certainly play at that. “And has the World’s Greatest Marksman mastered that art? Is he impossible to distract?”

"You know me. I can't miss."

Clint's hands tightened their grasp, spreading Natasha's legs a little wider around his so their hips pressed together in a still harmless but firm touch.

"Then again... I've never had someone so skilled test me..."

Just a hint of roughness had settled in his voice, the challenge in his glistening eyes unmistakable.

“So it seems...”

Though she might not admit it aloud, under most circumstances Natasha enjoyed when Clint took it upon himself to move her body as he liked. She only rolled her hips just slightly against his in a way that could be seen as her just settling more comfortably against him, completely innocent; otherwise she kept her body completely relaxed and pliant.

“I do believe that sounds like a challenge,” she said, raising her head to meet his eyes again. The confirmation was there in his gaze. “I accept.”

Since his hands were otherwise occupied, she decided to seal the deal with a kiss.

Her answer sounded so utter solemn, that the faint warm trickle in Clint's groin turned to a very interested twitch of muscles. This would be more than just a little teasing... Being challenged by Natasha was something he always enjoyed greatly.

He waited until she seemed fairly distracted, tongues meeting in a soft, harmless dance on the edge of her lower lip, before he turned around quickly, spinning her on her back and grinned down at her with both triumph and amusement.

"We'll see who comes out on top then..."

His hands slowly making their way up from her hips to her sides, he lowered his head to kiss her again, tongue diving deeper in her mouth now, tapping the roof of her mouth playfully.

What probably spoke more of her trust and affection for Clint than anything else was Natasha’s ability to overcome pure instincts when it came to him. Muscle memory alone almost had her kicking him off of her when he suddenly flipped them and pinned her beneath him, but she had gotten used to him over time, and after what was definitely not a squeak she had already settled back, locking that defensive mindset away while she was with him.

“Smooth,” she said, rolling her eyes at the pun but it was in a good natured manner, a half smile on her lips before he covered them with his again. Wrapping her legs around him she locked them in place she she could pull him tight against her again, one hand brushing the short hairs at the back of his head upward, against the grain. He still tasted of sugar, and she ran her tongue along his, savouring the sweetness.

He felt her tense up, not more than the slightest bit of air between them when her trained stomach muscles went taut, and relaxed against her immediately, taking some weight off her in leaning on his arms. Until he could feel her relax herself, wrap her body around his.

Fighting a smile at that almost adorable sound from her lips, he let his rest against her forehead, giving her another second to get used to the new position and melt into him. Soon enough her kiss convinced him, it was okay, that she was okay with him being in charge for the moment. Warm shivers followed the movement on her fingertips on his neck, and a quiet moan against her lips when their hips pressed into each other again.

"That's me, red", he grinned, far from done with teasing her. Maybe he was trying to provoke her a little, since he was pretty sure, she wouldn't accept being thrown off guard so easily. "Not old enough yet, to not be able to pin you to the floor."

Even when he took charge Clint still played very much at Natasha’s speed. Sometimes when he really coddled her it could get frustrating, but she understood and appreciated it nonetheless, especially in situations like this when a little care was necessary. Thankfully he didn’t mention it, though, didn’t ask if she was okay, nor apologise; he didn’t even back off, just played it off as if he hadn’t even noticed, which was the best thing he could have done. She didn’t want him to stop pushing her limits, she wanted to be completely free with him and for him to be able to completely relax with her. Last night seemed to have made some definite progress in that direction.

That wasn’t to say that she gave up all control of the situation, though, and when she caused him to moan she grinned against his lips.

“Mm, I can see that,” she replied, trailing kisses along his jaw. If he wanted to provoke her he was doing a good job. “Except...” she paused to nibble at his earlobe before letting it go to whisper, “this isn’t the floor.”

The last word hadn’t even left her lips before she was unhooking her legs from around him and rolling them both over and off the couch onto the floor between it and the coffee table. Landing on top of him she placed her hands on his shoulders to pin him and lifted her head to grin triumphantly.

"Just tried to be a gentlemen so you could land on me when we go down here", he claimed, grinning from ear to ear.

Of course he had seen it coming and still gotten a little distracted by her lips on such a sensitive spot. Well, yeah, maybe he was going a little soft. With her, at least, and since she was the only one he didn't have to fear anything from, that was fully okay.

For the moment he was completely content with where he was and let her know in wrapping his legs around hers, firmly keeping her in place, the now more prominent bulge under his pants grinding against her core.

“But I thought you were the one who was supposed to be pinning me to the floor,” she pointed out. She could only imagine how silly they looked, grinning at each other like lunatics, and she couldn’t care less. This was perfect, he was perfect. Perfect to her.

Her breath hitching when he ground up against her, his arousal more than obvious, Natasha ducked her head against to his neck, dragging first her teeth along his skin, then her tongue to soothe it.

“Maybe I should give you a matching mark...” she purred, clearly playing with fire. She hadn’t chosen an off the shoulder sweater just on a whim.

"Just waiting for the surprise element..."

But that already sounded much less warning and more laced with something suspiciously close to a purr. As if Natasha didn't know exactly what it did to him when she was working his neck.

Leaning his head back with his arms still pinned next to his body, Clint offered her a free access, still keeping her hips close to his though, with slow rocking movements against her center.

"Winner can claim his prize, I believe, so... Wherever you like, red."

And really, he couldn't care less what the people at work tomorrow would have to say to a nice little hickey just in sight.

As much as she loved the more aggressive, dominant Clint, when he laid back in submission she felt a certain thrill roll down her spine. It wasn’t a complete and utter relinquishment of control, his hips still rolling against hers, but she certainly wasn’t going to argue that, not when it felt so good.

Raising her head she playfully tapped one finger to her chin as if considering her options. She thought of pushing his shirt up, choosing somewhere less noticeable considering the meeting they had to attend tomorrow, but she knew his neck was one of the places that got to him the most, and he was offering it up in such a delectable way. Fuck everyone and everything else.

Descending on him again, she chose the spot that would mirror her own, smiling against him before drawing his skin softly into her mouth. “Mm, I think I’m going to like this ‘prize for winning’ thing,” she said, nipping at him before sucking softly again. It was almost unconscious when her hips started moving with his, and she let out a quiet moan.

"Good thing, I never have to go easy on you to make sure you'll win. Kind of like your choice of prize."

Clint's bantering turned into a series of soft sighs and moans with every word more. He knew, she would feel his pulse starting to race with every of her administrations and pressed against her harder, his hips falling into a lazy tight rhythm of rubbing against hers. Still on this side of harmless, no need to rush anything, but he just loved the thought that she was turning herself on pressing against him.

When he fell into more incoherent moaning she set to focus on her task, letting out a soft moan of her own every so often when the friction between them hit her just right. He craned his neck aside even more, making his throat a playground for her teasing lips, that one spot already pulsating warm with lust from overstimulated nerves.

When the casual pressing of their bodies into each other made her moan out next time, he held his hips right there, stomach muscles going tense, giving her just the right leverage to grind her most sensitive spot into him.

She didn’t expect the question, and wasn’t sure if he actually expected an answer in turn, but if he still needed validation every so often she wouldn’t withhold it. “You know I wouldn’t,” she said, placing a particularly slow and tender kiss on his neck.

His following words made her grin against him and her heart beat a little faster for a moment. For much of her life she had been seen as a possession, a weapon; anything but a woman of flesh and blood and feelings. Nobody owned her, she didn’t belong to anyone, but she was secure enough in her life now, in the woman she had become, to admit that perhaps giving a part of herself away wasn’t such a bad thing. She hadn’t given it freely at first, but over time Clint had stolen small pieces of her heart, so gradually that she hadn’t even noticed until it was whole again and in his possession. He held her heart, and now she wouldn’t even dream of trying to take it back, so in that way she was his as well. The thought was surprisingly not frightening at all.

“You are...” she replied, her breath catching when he found just the right position and held her there. For a moment she forgot what she was doing, her lips falling away from his neck as she moved slightly, gasping when even that small movement sent a thrill of pleasure through her. Lifting her head she surveyed her handiwork and, placing one last kiss upon the deeply coloured mark on his skin, she gently grasped his chin in one hand and turned his head to look at her. “And now everyone will know it.”

Kissing his lips, she ground against him again, moaning into his mouth.

Just the sheer thought made Clint growl back in his throat. Of course people suspected about Natasha and him and honestly he didn't give shit about what other agents were talking.

Only after New York it had started that whispered conversation behind his back had started to hurt, people pitying Natasha for being stuck with a wreck like him. She'd probably call cavemen on him if he told her but he wasn't unhappy at all about certain individuals maybe seeing him like that tomorrow, with her. And if it was just to flip the imaginary bird.

The way she pressed down on him much harder didn't leave much space for more of these thoughts. Instead he buried his head into her neck with a soft moan and kept the tension in his hips up, unmoving, offering her exactly what she needed to earn a few more of these hot noises. Natasha honestly wasn’t sure how she felt about their relationship being public knowledge. On one hand it had been nice these past few days, holding his hand and not caring that people could see them, dancing in the rain without any care in the world. On the other, though, she was afraid; afraid that if everyone knew she would lose him, that somehow the world would find a way to take him from her. It was stupid, she knew that, and it wasn’t like everyone didn’t already suspect, but right now he was hers, all hers, and she wasn’t sure she wanted to share that, while at the same time she wanted everyone to see the claim she had made on him. It was all rather confusing.

Tomorrow. She could worry about it tomorrow. It was very had to worry about anything right now with him pressed so hard against her, his breath hot on her neck. He had actually lasted a lot longer than she had expected he would before he let his hands start roaming over her body, gravitating straight for one of his seemingly favourite features of her body.

She couldn’t seem to form an answer at his words, her answer something completely unintelligible.

A year ago, even a few months ago, she would have taken him up on it, but now so much had changed and she didn’t want to regress.

Stopping her movements she looked down at him, fingers brushing through his hair and down over his jawline. “What I need is you,” she said, quietly and sincerely.

Something had thrown her out of the game, he knew before she even started to speak and took her hand while she did, caressing it and pressing his lips against her fingers when she reached out to touch him.

"You have me, Tash'. Always."

Without letting go off her, he pushed himself up on one arm to get his body closer to hers, lips finding her neck, her ear again to let her feel the hot, quick breath from their game, only slowly dying down.

"This... is just playing, you know? Sometimes I really love it when you own me like that. You don't know how hot it makes me, watching you pleasure yourself on me. You're so fucking beautiful when you start to let go."

He nuzzled her neck, her collarbone softly, his weight resting on his arm just as unmoving as he had carried her just a few seconds ago.

When he sat up and she could feel his breath hot against her skin she wrapped her arms lightly around his shoulders, resting her forehead against him. His words eased her worries instantly; he always seemed to know exactly what to say, and she was left feeling slightly foolish for her concerns, though her relief was greater.

They were a team, they were in this together, every step of the way; maybe one day they would both fully accept that and stop worrying. They both spent enough time following orders, and their off time was theirs to do what they wanted. It was still nice to have the confirmation, though.

“I’m becoming quite adept at killing the mood,” Natasha said with a chuckle. Nuzzling against him, she kissed that overly sensitive spot she had created on his neck. If the mood was recoverable his reaction would be a good indication.
